Exploring Mass Tourism Impacts on Locals: A Comparative Analysis Between Barcelona and Sevilla

Abstract
Mass tourism is growing uncontrolled in many destinations worldwide. Negative impacts emerge from it, transforming the city and influencing on locals’ lifestyle and well-being. However, debates and contradictions emerge on the real impact on communities. From that, a deeper analysis of this issue is needed to understand how people perceive tourism and its effects. A quantitative study was conducted in two mature destinations in Spain: Barcelona and Sevilla. One of the major findings from this research is the importance of locals’ support to manage tourism. Practical and managerial implications are suggested in order to promote more sustainable and participative development of destinations.
The Role of Islamic Boarding School in Increasing Understanding of Fiqh Transexual Worship (Case Study of the Transvestites of Al Fatah Islamic Boarding School)

Abstract
Biologically transexual are men, but psychologically they consider themselves as women. This causes confusion in daily life, especially in matters of worship. Some transexual, who don’t know yet their position in Islamic law, conduct worship with man or woman status. Same case happens in transexual of al Fatah Islamic boarding school which was established in 2008 at Kotagede, Yogyakarta. Giving religion education for transexual, this Islamic boarding school that leads to pro and contra in this society. It becomes an interesting learning in area of Islamic boarding school culture. This research explores how far the development of Islamic boarding school influences the paradigm of transexual students in the meaning of ritual worship and ma’ruf concepts in their daily life. This research also describes the study of fiqh worship among the transexual who learned in Islamic boarding school. This study is conducted through interviews and critical analysis using descriptive approaches. It is to obtain a description on the concept of worship obedience and believed that has been applied by transexual students in Islamic boarding school. The result is then analyzed to know the position of transexual worship in perspective of Islamic law, beside that research gives positive side the existence of Islamic boarding school towards mindset of transexual in operating worship activities and daily life in practicing Islam.
Surviving College Life: Unmasking Adjustment Concerns and Coping Strategies of International Students

Abstract
This is a descriptive study aimed to describe the adjustment concerns and coping strategies of international students enrolled in the university. There are 19 students who were purposively identified as participants for the social survey and 15 students for Focus Group Discussion. In general, data revealed that participants report having extreme difficulty with their relationship with God/divine being, as well as in handling their personal relationship problems. More specifically, participants reported having slight difficulty adjusting to teaching strategies, dealing with new professors, Participants reported having experienced moderate difficulty in establishing closer relationship with God, getting to social activities, making themselves understood by others, and in their feeling alone in college. The study also revealed that participants are coping positively with their adjustment concerns. Findings lend support to the university’s thrusts on inclusive education and internationalization program. The reported adjustment concerns are affirming of their vulnerability to succumb to multiple-issues harmful to their total wellness while they are in their transitional stage. The difficulties they experienced in their academic pursuit are context for teachers to revisit, continually upgrade classroom instructions as well as to be mindfully sensitive and respecting of the students’ multi-cultural backgrounds, as well as for administrators’ attention to sustain provision of essential support and resources so as to respond to the variant needs of the international students. The study recommends actions that may insure international student’s ability to overcome challenges and thereby flourish psychologically and socio-culturally in their new environment.
