Dr Rael Futerman, Programme Manager at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at the University of Cape Town South Africa, delivered a key note speech at Conference ICMRP, December 15-16 2017, Singapore

Dr Rael Futerman had done his specialization in Industrial Design, Participatory Design and Design-led Innovation. As a Design Thinking educator, his interest is in developing context-relevant programs that support experiential learning among multi-disciplinary student and industry groups. His area of interest includes the development of contextual models of design thinking practice, entrepreneurship development and discovery-driven innovation. Rael has worked as an educator and Programme Manager within the Industrial Design department of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), and a consultant and researcher in the academic and corporate sectors. He delivered speech on “The Future of Learning in Emerging Creative Economies” and presented an outline of several programmes. The aim of these programmes is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of interdisciplinary study at a tertiary institution that operates in a highly complex, multicultural and evolving context. His Key note speech was aligned with the conference theme and he highly appreciated Global Illuminators efforts for promotion of innovation through multidisciplinary approach. He also appreciated the concept of “ Serving the local community” pitched by Executive Director Dr. Farooq Ahmed Jam as per vison of Global Illuminators.
